Innovate for Impact.

I became a designer to do cool shit and make people’s lives better.

Design was my first love. I’m a creative at heart, with a little nerd thrown in.

It was no surpise to anyone that I decided to study design when I was 15. The cornerstone was when I watched my grandparents relocate from North Queensland to Perth and struggle to find furniture that was both comfortable AND beautiful. Why do all ergonomics go out the window for style, particularly when it’s designed for people with different abilities? Ugh, something had to change.

So, I moved to Melbourne to pursue just that. In my third year of uni, I thought I landed my DREAM job: a part-time junior designer detailer role at a joinery company. I learned so much and made incredible connections within both the furniture and construction industries. I loved it, but it didn’t fulfill my purpose. I was only 2 months away from finishing my degree when I realised that I had been so focused on becoming a furniture designer when what I really wanted was to use my design skills to help people make meaningful impact.

Fast forward to today and I reckon I have the coolest job in the world. I solve complex problems with well-informed, creative solutions.
